Thanks to Stephan Wintermeyer and Stephen Bosch for stopping by and sharing the info about this book which will be out soon. The site is a work in progress. You can see it at http://www.the-asterisk-book.com Be sure and give them feedback to make the book even better.
For weeks I've been chasing after Jeremy McNamara of Nufone.net and finally he showed up unannounced to talk about the early days and share some great stories and tips.
You can listen to any of the recorded conferences here: http://x2z.eu/astusers.htm which is an autoplay Flash mp3 player.

About AstriDevCon
I am very pleased with the support and resources Mark Spencer and Digium have lent to the Conference effort. As Russell mentions in this session, Mark and Kevin Fleming try to be a part of the conference but they both have a lot of commitments.
A lot of ground was covered in the session with Russell Bryant, some good questions answered here. Some of the information has been published on SineApps and the various mailing lists, but you can listen to this one hour discussion on your way to work or on a plane using an mp3 player, or go to the Flash player page which should autostart with the last session.
Please join talkshoe in order to participate. You can listen anonymously on the asterisk conference page, but you will not be visible to me so I can't see who may have questions. I will watch #asterisk for questions as well, please address them to Zeeek.
More on calling in can be found at http://x2z.eu

Asterisk User Conference
| Past conference recordings For information on how to join the conference: x2z.eu You'll need to register for a PIN with Talkshoe, which is free and painless. They won't spam you. We use Talkshoe for several reasons: it's free, bandwidth is free, software is free and cross-platform. Conferences are automatically recorded and the RSS feeds is automatically generated. I have worked with the Talkshoe guys for the Kiva.org Talkathon, they're good people and they provide good service. We hope to keep growing the conference which you can hear live or recorded, join on PSTN or SIP, and use a Java application to chat with other participants.

Featuremap and application map - or anything else on your mind
See the site at http://x2z.eu for conference instructions
If only someone would share their use of these somewhat obscure things that appeared around 1.2, I would be happier. Other than reading the source or experimenting, there's no good way I've seen to get $clue.Friday, April 13 at 12:30 PM EDT, I hope to see some answers! If forced into a corner, I may have to talk about what I've done, but that's never a good thing ![]()
What about this patent lawsuit between Vonage and Verizon? Are we all about to receive notice to stop using SIP? What is all this patent madness these days?

Kiva Friends!
Excellent site for sharing all kinds of information between friends, KivaFriends.org was born a few days ago. The Internet is such a great tool for making the world better (duh, why didn't we thionk of this 15 years ago?) and after becoming addicted to Kiva.org, the next thing to do is go hang out at Kiva Friends. Highly recommended!
